Director: Emily MacKinnon
Emily is a UFV Theatre Veteran and is very excited to be directing her first full length show. Having stage managed for Love's Labour's Lost and A Midsummer Nights Dream, and acted in Much Ado About Nothing and Romeo and Juliet for Bard in the Valley, Emily is beyond ecstatic to be in the drivers seat for BIV’s 2020 production.
In a Post #MeToo and #TimesUp world we are becoming more conscious to the situations people can get put into and impossible decisions that they need to make. That is exactly what this play is about. It is an incredibly relevant for a play that was written at the beginning of the 17th Century. The plan for this play is to really convey the timelessness of this story and the message behind, while also adjusting aspects to make it relevant to the 21st Century.
We are looking for a cast of no more than 11 actors with at a minimum of three female roles and 3 males roles, with the rest being open to anyone.
Measure For Measure – Director
Emily has been with bard for many years. Last year she worked behind the scenes as the stage manager for Midsummer Nights’ Dream.
This year Lauren joins us as the Technical Director. Lauren has proven herself in the past with assisting the Technical director for Midsummer Nights’ Dream.
Madison brings her passion for Shakespeare and her leadership to the vocal director role. We look forward to her work with the cast.
